how the formulas was rediscovered When my company was commissioned to perform restoration work at the Gamble House Museum, Our first goal was to research the history of the house. We began researching Henry and Charles Greene, the architects. Our research led us to John and Peter Hall, the general contractors. We discovered that Donald Hall, the son of Peter Hall, was still alive. I gave Mr. Hall a phone call. I introduced myself and asked Mr. Hall if he had the original formulas. Mr. hall said yes, they are a secret. Later in our conversation he was kind enough to give me the formulas. I want to thank Mr. Hall for his generosity. As per your request they still are a secret. Were did the name Monkey Juice come from The very first thing we wish to express: there are no monkeys in the juice. We love animals; we would never juice a monkey. We were asked by the architect/curator of the Gamble House Museum, Randell Makinson, if we would like to restore the front door system. We jumped at the opportunity. Just imagine, you are working at a museum. Now imagine you are working on the main entrance. The entrance is constructed of teak wood and tiffany glass, a major architectural element of the house. Everyday visitors walk by to see the house. They all ask the same questions (We were always happy to answer); "what are you doing?", "what are you using?". Three weeks go by, you're are oiling away. The first tour of the day comes by. Someone asks "what are you using?" the answer: "Monkey Juice". The name stuck. If you have questions or need advice, please visit Monkey Juice Oils blog
